#PresidentTajani beim Besuch des slowakischen Premierministers: "Die Gewährleistung einer prosperierenden Zukunft Europas liegt in der Verantwortung aller"

Präsident des Europäischen Parlaments Antonio Tajani (im Bild) received Slovak Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini in Strasbourg this week in the framework of his initiative to invite EU heads of state and government to debate the future of Europe in plenary with MEPs.

Following Prime Minister Pellegrini’s address, President Tajani stated: “I want to thank the prime minister for his contribution. As our common goal is to change Europe for the better, it is very important to listen to the proposals of different member states on the future of Europe.

“Europe is founded on the principle of solidarity and shared values. Securing a prosperous future of Europe is everyone’s responsibility. We count on Slovakia’s solidarity and sense of unity to deliver solutions to EU citizens’ concerns and contribute to the advancement of the most pressing legislative files such as asylum reform and investment in Africa to reduce migration flows.

“The European Parliament is strongly committed to the defence of the Venezuelan people and we call on all Member States to recognize the President of the Republic ad interim is Guaidó.

“I welcome the prime minister’s engagement on press freedom and uncovering the truth on the killing of Ján Kuciak.”
